Registration Open for 12th European Conference on Rare Diseases & Orphan Products

    By IORD | IORD Updates, Rare Disease News | 0 comment | 6 February, 2024 | 0

Registrations are now open for the 12th European Conference on Rare Diseases & Orphan Products (ECRD), scheduled to take place on May 15-16, 2024, at The Square venue in Brussels.

Said to be one the largest patient-led events in the rare disease field, the hybrid conference would facilitate collaborative dialogue, learning, and conversation. It serves as a platform for shaping rare disease policies and fostering important and innovative discussions on both national and international levels.

The non-profit Indian Organization for Rare Diseases is honoured to serve as one of the Outreach Partners for the upcoming ECRD-2024, which will be held both online and in-person in Brussels on May 15-16, 2024.

    ECRD-2024 Importance:

With the European elections approaching, marking the inception of a new term for the European Parliament and the European Commission, the 12th ECRD becomes a key driver in shaping policies to address the unique needs of people with rare diseases and their families over the next five years.

What sets the ECRD apart is its integration into broader rare disease policy and healthcare ecosystem efforts. Rooted in the recommendations of the Rare 2030 Foresight Study, the ECRD continues to build on this comprehensive review of the strategy for rare diseases and shape the thinking of policymakers and the community, encouraging a more streamlined and proactive approach to addressing the unmet needs of people living with rare diseases and the persisting inequalities across Europe.

    • Revolutionising Funding Strategies for Breakthrough Therapies in Rarer Diseases
